If you are planning a holiday in Naples and want to move comfortably by train to Pompeii, Salerno, Caserta, or the Amalfi Coast, there is a new feature that will make your travels even easier: starting from Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Tap& Tap service is also active in Campania, a new quick and secure way to purchase tickets for regional trains.
What is the Tap& Tap service?
Tap& Tap is a contactless payment system that allows you to buy regional train tickets directly at the validators in the station, without the need for apps, ticket offices, or cash.
It operates 24/7.
How does Tap& Tap work?
📍 1. Touch at departure
Approach your contactless card, smartphone, or smartwatch to the Tap& Tap marked validators at the departure station.
📍 2. Touch at arrival
Do the same at the destination station, using the same card or device.
👮♂️ 3. Onboard check
In case of inspection, simply show the last four digits of the card used for payment.
Where is the service available?
Tap& Tap is already operational at 26 stations in Campania, along the main regional lines:
🚆 Naples - Caserta Line (via Aversa)
🚆 Naples - Sapri Line (passing through Salerno)
There are already 118 enabled validators, clearly identifiable thanks to dedicated signage.
