Visit Castel Nuovo

PRICE: €6
DURATION: 1:30H (The visit can be done with or without a guide)
HISTORY:
Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino, is an imposing fortress in the port area of the city of Naples. Its five towers can be seen from afar. It was built by King Charles I of Anjou when he decided to move the capital from Palermo to Naples. The building is impressive, but very little remains of its original elements. It was strategically interesting as both a royal residence and a fortress.

You can visit the Piazza d'Armi, the Palatine Chapel (although it was closed), the Armory Hall which housed the castle's weapons, but to my surprise, you can walk on a wooden floor that allows us to see archaeological human remains from the Roman era. You can also visit the panoramic terrace on the Beverello wharf, the Carlo V Hall with prestigious works of art from the 15th to the 18th century, and the Barons' Hall which hosted a conference.

With our accurate directions, you will arrive at this Castle that has made the history of Naples in no time!
