STORY:
The church of the old Gesù was completed after the new Gesù, but it is called old because it was the first place where the Jesuits settled before having the seat of the new Gesù, where they are still located today in Naples. The church adds two side aisles to the central nave, which lead to many chapels defined by arches.
A church from the 16th century, already part of the Jesuit College and now the headquarters of some faculties of the Federico II University of Naples, which for the people of Naples remains the church of the Madonnina of Don Placido, a priest and rector from 1806 until his death in 1851.
