Rites for the feast of San Gennaro
Start: Wednesday, September 18.
Oil for the votive lamp offered by the youth of the Lay Aggregations of the Diocese.
Procession with the Carabinieri band, Archbishop, Auxiliary Bishops, Clergy, Lay Aggregations, and Diocesan Committee of San Gennaro.
Celebration in the Cathedral.
Vigil Rite at 6:30 pm, presided over by the Metropolitan Archbishop Don Mimmo Battaglia.
Canons, prelates, delegation of the San Gennaro Committee, and representatives of the Lay Aggregations will participate.
Lighting of the votive lamp in the Crypt in front of the Relics of San Gennaro.
Feast of San Gennaro - September 19
The Cathedral will be open from 7:30 am to 9 pm.
Celebrations include Mass at 8:00 am and reading of the Passion of San Gennaro.
Eucharistic Celebration.
At 10:00 am, the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration begins with the possible announcement of the liquefaction of the Blood.
The Archbishop will display the ampoules to the faithful at the end of the Mass.
Thanksgiving Octave
From September 19 to 26, the Octave will be held with Mass at 9:00 am and veneration from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
The ampoule with the Blood will be displayed for the veneration of the people.
